In this chapter we start to see the first supposed “benefits” of the hormone treatment that Marissa had received after her red eye flight home, which means things will start heating up shortly.  Marissa is in denial about the “flu bug” that she contracted from a stranger on a flight home from a business trip.  Seriously, what reasonable, mature professional believes in the boogey man, vampires and other strange things that go bump in the night?
